Guest DT at My Sheri Crafts

Good morning everyone

So I have been very pleased to win a guest DT spot at My Sheri Crafts with my beautiful box card that I made for my mum's birthday. It was such a nice surprise as I haven't won anything for a while and I almost missed out as I hadn't check my emails for a couple of days. I've now learnt a lesson that if you enter into the challenges you need to make sure that you do check back to see if your a winner or in the Top 3.

So this week's theme is "Black Magic" and is challenge #145, as we don't celebrate Halloween here in Australia these cards are always a challenge for me but a challenge is always good.

I had an image already printed for another challenge but I didn't end up using her so I got stuck straight into colouring her after receiving the email and then even stayed up late to get the card finished as the design came to me as I was watching Criminal Minds. I only had a couple of days to get everything done and sent to Sheri so why not keep going while the juices where flowing as I had to go to work the next day at 10am so at least I knew it was finished and sent.

So enough babbling and onto my card

So I ended up having a lot of fun creating this card and I think it turned out great even if I do say so myself. However the only unfortunate thing is there is no one to give it to or sell it to because as I said before we don't celebrate Halloween.

So the products I've used in this card are

American Crafts cs & Thicker embellishments
Bearly Mine Designs digital pp's
Cuddlebug Cuties digital stamp
My Favourite Things dies
Kaiser pearls
I Am Roses flowers
Cremen Creations stamens
Digital images for Haunted House & Ghosts

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

The Paper Shelter - Halloween

Creative Knockouts - Halloween

Tuesday Throwdown - Halloween colours

Marker POP - Halloween

Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes

So make sure you pop on over and join in the challenges at My Sheri Crafts as I will be doing so on a regular basis.

Challenge layout for Creative Scrappers

Well good evening everyone

I came home from work a little early today as I wasn't feeling very well and I'm still not 100% but I really wanted to get this challenge uploaded to my blog and entered into the challenge before the month gets away with me.

This challenge I came across on Facebook when Tarrah McLean posted her DT layout and boy was I inspired and with it also being a sketch challenge I just couldn't help myself. I had a really busy and hard morning at work on Monday and was not in a good place so my mum sent me to my craftroom to snap out of it and this is the layout that I created for the Creative Scrappers.

This was the sketch to take inspiration from

I really hope that Tarrah is flattered with me taking inspiration from her DT layout, I really enjoyed doing this page and it turned out just how I imagined it would and it didn't even take me long to put it together.

I've used lots of my new products on the this layout and they are

Heidi Swapp pp's, embellishments & epoxy words etc
Kaisercraft embellishments
Stampin Up embossing folder
Spellbinder die
Studio Calico & Freckled Fawn wood veneer embellishments
American Crafts cs
Flutterby Designs flair button
Prima epoxy hearts

So that's it for me tonight I think it's time to put myself to bed as I'm really not feeling too good right now.

Inpirational Post from me over at Bearly Mine Designs challenges & inspiration blog

Good evening everyone

So I promised everyone over at Bearly Mine Desings Challenges & Inspiration blog that I would do something a little bit different this month instead of just a plain square card so I created a box card for my mum's birthday which is tomorrow.

I love how this one turned out and I already had the coloured image from Sherry Baldy Art on Etsy which I had a coloured while I was on holidays in May.

I worked on this creation before and after work last week and managed to get it completed on Saturday while I had the house to myself for a few quiet hours.

So onto my creation

I really hope that mum's going to like it as I'm really happy with the way that it has turned out.

The papers that I used are from Bearly Mine Designs of course and I used Summer Floral Delights which is a new one for this year and Plain & Simple which is a must have in your stash.

So the products I've used in this card are

American Crafts cs
Bearly Mine Design's pp's
Sherry Baldy (My Besties) digital image
Copic markers for image
Petal Lu flowers
I Am Roses flowers
Kaiser pearls
Lilly Of The Valley sentiment stamp
Marianne Designs, Joy Crafts & La La Land dies
SU ink

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges

Glitter & Sparkle - Use some Flowers

One Stitch At A Time - Anything Goes with a Flower

Stamping Sensations - Things with Wings

Crafting at the Weekend - Anything Goes

My Sherry CRAFTS - Birthday Celebrations

So that's it for me tonight, very early morning and a very long, busy and tiresome day at work so I'm off to bed as soon as the dishwasher, dryer and washing machine finish. Here's hoping for a decent nights sleep tonight cause I really need it.

Stuck for Sketches challenge September

So yes I'm back already like I said I would be with my layout for the "Stuck? Sketches" September challenge which I stumbled along when I was looking for some inspiration for another challenge on Facebook and they both ended up working out great together.

The challenge on Facebook for Scrapsidaisy Scraplift Challenges was a "Sport" theme and this was a difficult challenge for me as there are no sporting photo's of me, cause those of you who know me I'm not sporty at all. Then the light bulb went off and I remembered we had a photo in a frame of David (hubby) when he is a young boy playing Rugby. With some new pp's in hand and also some amazing new embellishments the layout came together beautifully.

So the sketch which I've used for Stuck? Sketches is

As you will see in my layout I haven't used any butterflies or anything pretty as it is a sporty, boys page.

Not a bad interpretation considering I only used one photo and made it masculine.

I actually loved doing this page and it came together so quickly with all these wonderful new embellishments I have and also the very new pp's after a quick trip to Taree yesterday morning before getting started on the layout.

So that's it for me this weekend, I will be back later on in the week to upload a few more challenges and also to do my Inspirational Post for Bearly Mine Designs.

Have a great week everyone and hopefully you'll get some time to be creative.

Happy crafting

Challenge layouts I've been creating

So I've been getting a little creative over the last month or so but I've been very slack and haven't uploaded any of my layouts to my blog so I thought it was about time that I did so.

The first layout is one that was created for a group on Facebook called Aussie Craft Creations and Challenges and it was last months challenge and the criteria was Ă„ussie" colours GREEN/GOLD (YELLOW) and I was actually lucky enough to be the winner. Woo Hoo

This photo was taken at a Family Fun Day at Forster Keys which is just down the end of the street and a bit further to where we live, we meet up with our good friends and spent the arvo watching the speed boats. It was a great afternoon out and the boats where especially noisy but that was half the fun.

This was my first entry into the challenge site and I'll be hopefully working on the next one tomorrow which will be pushing it before the end of the month. Why don't you come along and join in the fun, they are a bunch of lovely ladies Aussie Crafts Creations and Challenges.

The next lot of layouts that I'm uploading are also for a challenge site on Facebook Scrapsidaisy Scraplift Challenges and I have also been lucky enough to win one of their challenges as well. Their site is a weekly challenge and for me I can not always get to do a layout for these guys as sometimes work gets in the way. The following layouts are what I have entered so far.

This challenge was "Bling", I always love bling challenges and I had only recently purchased some silver and gold pp's for my stash so it worked out perfectly and I also had the perfect photo as we'd recently been to a 50th Birthday party and the theme was "Hats" and I had worn a silver one PERFECT.

The next challenge was "Purple & Green", this one was a challenge but I didn't go with the traditional green I went for Aqua and again I was lucky enough to actually have another photo of myself in a dress no less when hubby and I went out for Valentines Day dinner.

This is the challenge that I actually won and I was so very happy as I was so impressed with my layout especially considering it's very rare I'll scrap a photo of myself without someone else in it.

The next challenge was an interesting one it was a 1, 2, 3, 4 challenge

1 button (only)
2 circles (only)
3 photos (only)
4 flowers (only)

you could use anything else on your layout just nothing more of the above four elements. This one I had some great photo's of David from out day out at the Honeycomb Farm in January this year with Leane & Tom, it was an awesome day out even though it was very hot.

The good thing about this challenge was I actually used mainly old things from my stash, the only new product I think was the flair button with the bee everything else is years old as you can all probably see. (that's any old time scrappers anyway)

The next challenge was an inspiration challenge, we had to use the following

For this challenge I had a photo of my Nan, and I don't think we actually have many more of her, she past away when I was only 8 years old so 35 years is a long time ago. My mum's family came from an era when it was a struggle for money so photo's are few and far between as they didn't have the money for a camera let alone having them developed.

I actually used some of my own Cremen Creations products on this layout and went vintage.

So this one is the last challenge for this post as this weeks challenge I will be entering into another challenge as well which means doing a post just for it.

This challenge was to use Brown/Green and at least 10cm of lace, the week that this challenge was due my god daughter came along with her mum to bingo with mum and I on Tuesday night and we took selfies when the night was over. The photo turned out perfect for this challenge and the papers I had chosen to use.

One thing I loved about my layout when it was finished was the combination of old and new products, always good to use stuff from your stash but it's also nice when you've got new goodies to play with.

So that's me for this very long post, to all of you who pop by I look forward to your comments.
